Introduction

In the English city of Lincoln, there is a public research university called the University of Lincoln. The institution's history dates back to 1861, and after being granted university status in 1992, it first went by the name University of Humberside before changing to University of Lincolnshire and Humberside in 1996 and then settling on its current name in 2001. Along with Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln is one of the city's two universities. The main campus in Lincoln is next to Brayford Pool, an area that has undergone urban renewal during the 1990s; additional campuses are in Riseholme and Holbeach. The institution was dubbed "the biggest thing to happen to Lincoln since the Romans" by The Independent. Lincoln has climbed 60 spots in 4 years in the rankings of top universities. The university has undergone "the most radical transition of a university in recent decades," according to The Sunday Times newspaper, which publishes The Times Good University Guide. [9] The university made its debut in The Guardian University Guide's top 50 universities in 2012. and in the first major student handbook published by The Complete University in 2016, it was listed among the top 40 English universities. The historic Lincoln Cathedral hosts the University of Lincoln's annual tradition of student graduation ceremonies.
