Introduction

Prifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewi Sant is the Welsh name for the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, which has three main campuses in South West Wales: Carmarthen, Lampeter, and Swansea. There is a fourth campus for the institution in London, England. Under the terms of Lampeter's royal charter from 1828, the University was created in 2010 by the union of the two oldest higher education institutions in Wales, the University of Wales, Lampeter (UWL) and Trinity University College (TUC). The University of Wales would likewise be integrated with Trinity Saint David, it was announced in 2011. The University and Swansea Metropolitan University combined on August 1st, 2013. The University is made up of three faculties: the Faculty of Humanities (located primarily in the Lampeter campus), the Faculty of Education and Training, and the Faculty of Arts and Social Studies (located primarily in the Carmarthen campus), each of which offers courses in theology, religious studies, philosophy, classics, anthropology, archaeology, ancient history, English, history, drama, film studies, business management, IT, education studies, and initial teacher preparation.
