Introduction

Leeds Conservatoire is a higher education music conservatory located in Leeds, England's Quarry Hill neighborhood. It was originally known as The Leeds Music Centre, the City of Leeds College of Music, and Leeds College of Music. In 1965, Joseph Stones started it.

In addition to its educational offerings, which also include short courses and programs for musicians of all ages, Leeds Conservatoire also presents a seasonally scheduled concert series, mostly in its 350-seat auditorium "The Venue." With 90% of its pianos originating from the Steinway family, Leeds Conservatoire became the only conservatoire in England to receive the designation of All-Steinway School in 2011. In August 2011, Leeds Conservatoire joined the Luminate Education Group as a fully owned subsidiary of Leeds City College.  In 2018, the conservatoire regained its status as a Higher Education Institution.
