In St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, Brock University is a public research institution. It is the only institution in Canada located in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, on the Niagara Escarpment in the middle of Canada's Niagara Peninsula. Maj.-General Sir Isaac Brock, who was in charge of defending Upper Canada from the United States during the War of 1812, is the name of the university.
