Introduction
A public research university called Brunel University London is situated in Uxbridge, London, United Kingdom. It was named after the Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel when it was founded in 1966. With a concentration on the training of engineers, Brunel College of Technology split off from Acton Technical College in 1957. In 1960, the College of Advanced Technology designation was granted to Brunel College of Technology, which later changed its name to Brunel College of Advanced Technology. Brunel College of Advanced Technology received a royal charter in June 1966 and changed its name to Brunel University London. It's frequently called a "plate glass university" in Britain. The European University Association, Universities UK, and the Association of Commonwealth Universities are all members of Brunel.
