Introduction
The Institution of Queensland, sometimes known as Queensland University, is a public research university with its main campus in Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland in Australia. One of the six sandstone universities, or the oldest university in each state, UQ was established in 1909 by the Queensland parliament. The University of Queensland is now rated 42nd globally and second in Australia as of 2023. Additionally, UQ is a founding member of edX, Australia's top Group of Eight, and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, a global organization with a focus on high-quality research.
