Introduction
The University of Derby is a public university in the English city of Derby. It was formerly known as Derby College of Art and Technology or simply Derby College. It dates its beginnings to the Derby Diocesan Institution for the Training of Schoolmistresses' founding in 1851, and it was granted university status as one of the new universities in 1992. The university offers almost 300 undergraduate study options. The majority of academic fields and subdisciplines are covered by undergraduate programs, short courses, foundation degrees, and postgraduate degrees. Presently, all areas of study are represented by about 22,000 students at the university.
